HISTORY
MED started life in 1981 as a Unix-based medical billing program for a small multi-doctor office in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The
first version of MED was written in 'C' using the Unify data base. In 1984, we converted MED to a DOS format. In 1988, we
upgraded MED from Unify to the Clarion. Topspeed later purchased Clarion. Currently, over 30 offices in the Albuquerque
area use the DOS version of MED. One of our clients has over 20 people working with the program on a daily basis. We began
development of a Windows version of MED in the summer of 1998. We were proud to release our first Windows-based version
of MedĒ to our customers in January 1999.
As a promotional special, we are currently offering Med for Windows free to my current customers as an upgrade.
The free program is limited to 50 patients. We charge current
users a fee to convert the existing data to the new program. We also offer training and on-site assistance for an hourly fee or at
a flat rate. Out-of-state (New Mexico) users generally do not need on-site assistance, but we do offer online technical
support. Modifications to Med are also available. You may purchase a report writer or an ODBC driver. The ODBC driver will
allow you to access the data files using other programs.
